On Riverside Blvd in Sacramento's 95831 neighborhood, Elks Lodge #6 has built a reputation that shows up clearly in its 187 reviews and 4.4-star rating. People keep coming back, and they bring friends. The lounge draws regulars who stay for the conversation. The dance floor fills up every Friday night thanks to DJ Cheo and his assistant Jason, who have turned those evenings into something locals genuinely look forward to.

The lodge is also a working venue. Martial arts promoters have staged Rising Stars Muay Thai events here multiple times, praising the clean, spacious layout and the ample parking that makes large crowds easy to manage. Swing dance classes with deep roots in the Sacramento scene call this place home. That range, from a quiet drink at the bar to a packed fight card, says something real about what the space can hold.

BPOE Lodge #6 is part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a fraternal organization with over a century of charitable work across the country. Membership opens the door to those events and to a network of lodges nationwide. But for most members, the draw is simpler: a reliable place on the river side of Sacramento where the people are good and the Friday nights are worth marking on the calendar.

What We Offer

The lodge's lounge is the anchor, a comfortable spot for members and their guests to meet up for drinks without the noise and anonymity of a typical bar. It runs regularly and has developed a loyal crowd that treats it like a neighborhood living room.

Friday night dances are the signature weekly event, powered by DJ Cheo's sets that consistently earn praise in reviews. Swing dance instruction also runs on a recurring schedule, giving beginners a real entry point and giving experienced dancers a home base. Beyond the weekly programming, the lodge hosts private events and large-scale productions, including combat sports shows that have drawn crowds and five-star reviews for the facility's cleanliness and parking capacity.

Membership in Elks Lodge #6 includes access to all of the above plus the broader BPOE network, community service opportunities, and the kind of social infrastructure that is genuinely hard to find elsewhere. Prospective members can reach out through the lodge's website at elks6.com to learn about the application process.

"Love this hidden gem in the pocket. Private club that doesn’t break the bank. Gives you back so much joy in return of membership. I enjoy the camaraderie, and seeing the people who are there. They have a wonderful gym with a sauna, steam room, indoor jacuzzi, indoor, heated lap pool and clean facilities. This building gives retro vibes but they keep it clean and the style is timeless. I enjoy spending time there and would recommend anyone looking for a way to give back to their community or a place to be, to join. You don’t have to be invited. You can call or walk right up, which so many people do not know. There’s a bunch of younger members starting to join. I love that families are welcome to join the members to enjoy the lodges perks like the bar. It’s a private bar so it is only open to members and their guests."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
